Information and purpose

We receive names, contact details, news tips and messages you submit. We use them to answer enquiries, check facts, consider stories, process advertising requests and manage complaints. Submission is voluntary; without contact details we may be unable to respond. Please do not include identity documents or sensitive information that is unnecessary for your enquiry.

Storage and access

Website submissions are stored in the WordPress database for authorised administrators. Hosting and security systems may record technical information, including IP addresses. Anti-spam controls use a short-lived hashed network identifier. We keep information for its editorial, administrative or legal purpose and review removal requests individually.

Sharing and publication

We do not sell submission information. Relevant information may be handled by our hosting or communication providers, or disclosed where legally required. Newsworthy information may be published after editorial review. We seek appropriate permission for private details and images, especially those involving children.

External providers

Weather and exchange-rate requests are made from our server. WhatsApp, social-media, ticket and maps links take you to third parties, which may process information outside South Africa under their own terms. This theme does not add a newsletter or advertising trackers.

Your rights and enquiries
